This Document provides a high-level overview of key steps, requirements, and considerations for rebuilding fire-damaged beachfront properties in Malibu. It details debris removal updates, outlines a three-step permitting process (planning approval, plan checks with multiple agencies, and building permit issuance), and offers streamlined approaches for coastal engineering and geotechnical reviews. The slides highlight FEMA elevation changes, potential reuse of existing septic systems (OWTS) and seawalls, plus the required engineering assessments for each. Also included are temporary shoring guidelines, an overview of crane pad usage and OSHA safety regulations for excavation, and information on the City’s Rebuild Center—an in-person resource to help property owners navigate the rebuild and permit processes.
